Dockside Self-Catering Apartment is situated directly across the picturesque small boat harbour on the East Bank of beautiful Port Alfred, in the Eastern Cape - situated midway and exactly 160km between the cities of East London and Port Elizabeth.

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom, double story apartment sleeps 4 adults and on request, mattresses can be brought in for children.

Our Port Alfred accommodation has magnificent views, and is conveniently located to the beaches, small town and a great stop over when travelling through Port Alfred with easy accessibility to the main road through Port Alfred.

10 minutes from the lovely little town of Bathurst and within easy reach of many of the Sunshine Coast’s wonderful attractions.

Port Alfred is one of the most sought-after holiday destinations on Route 72 in the Eastern Cape. Long, clean, sandy beaches and a great climate make for a perfect holiday.

This stunning double story apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully fitted kitchen, spacious and open-planned lounge/dining area and two braai (BBQ) areas including an undercover one for when it rains or for use during the winter months. Floating stairs connect the two floors. There is WiFi throughout the property.

The main bedroom is situated upstairs and includes a Queen-sized bed, a dressing area and dressing table, table and two chairs, en-suite bathroom with a bath and a separate shower. There is a flat screen TV with DsTV, Coffee and Tea making facilities and a hairdryer. The room has folding glass doors opening onto its own private patio with magnificent views over the garden, small boat harbour and the royal marina.

The second bedroom is situated downstairs. Like the main bedroom, the room includes a Queen-sized bed, walk in closet, dressing table, spacious en-suite bathroom with a shower, safe and hairdryer.

The Kitchen is fully fitted and is equipped with modern appliances.  There is ample storage space for anyone looking for longer stays. There is a drinking-water tap for ease and convenience.

The expansive, open lounge and dining room leads onto a large patio and braai area – accessible by glass folding doors. A wonderful feature for those warmer months and open plan, indoor / outdoor living. The patio leads down into a garden which includes a grass area. 

The apartment has magnificent views of the small boat harbour and marina.

Safety – there is an electric fence which surrounds the property and an alarm system with beams. There is off-road parking as well as secured parking.

Please note:

Breakages: A breakage deposit of R500 should be paid with the booking as well. The Breakage deposit will be refunded after the inventory has been checked.  Should there be no damage to be claimed a full refund will be made within 7 days after departure.
Should the property be damaged either wilfully or not, by negligence or not, by yourself or any other, you agree to pay for the said damages if it exceeds the amount held via the breakage deposit. Should you arrive at the property and find that there are damages, the onus is upon you to inform our office immediately. The breakage deposit will be held in trust and released to the bank account nominated by yourself. Please remember to email us your account details. 

Please do not exceed the maximum number of people allowed in the unit. Failure to comply with this request will result in eviction with no refund and no notice period.

No smoking is allowed inside the unit. Should you smoke in the house you will lose your breakage deposit in full. Ashtrays are available for outside smoking.

Please do not remove the towels for swimming or to take to the beach.  Beach towels can be requested and used pending a R50 deposit per towel.

The apartment is serviced every day. 

Check in no earlier than 14:00. No keys can be released without full and final settlement and please ensure the full balance outstanding is reflected in our bank account 7 days prior to arrival.Keys needs to be collected from Dockside Guest House. Tenants will be held responsible for all charges relating to lost keys or keys not returned after vacating the premises.

We cannot be held liable for any losses or inconvenience to tenants caused by an act beyond our control.

There are many things to do in and around the Sunshine Coast seaside resort of Port Alfred

 ·       Beaches - Voted the best in South Africa. Long stretches of clean unspoilt beaches with tidal pools and an abundance of shells where you can walk in solitude for miles at the edge of the Indian Ocean. Enjoy a sociable swim with other bathers at the popular beaches.

·         Fishing - Deep Sea, Rock, Surf and River, Deep sea charter trips are available.

·         River Cruise - The Kowie is navigable for 28 km. It flows from wild indigenous forests, through farmlands, past riverside homes, the small boat harbour with it numerous small boats and fishing fleet. Past the marina with its open-ended waterways and its graceful arched bridges linking four of its five islands and out into the Indian Ocean. Wonderful bird life - see the majestic fish eagles up the river.

·         Scuba Diving - Excellent year-round diving among some of the most colourful reefs of South Africa. The dive school offers courses and equipment for hire. Some of the well-known sites are Deep Anchorage, Fountain Rocks and Jenssens Rock. Surfing and snorkelling.

·         Golf - Royal Port Alfred and Fish River Sun Courses with magnificent sea views.

·         Horse Trails - On the beach and in a nature reserve.

·         Kowie Canoe Trail - 21km up the Kowie River.

·         Hiking Trails - more than 10 to choose from.

·         Bowls and Tennis.

·         Relax on the patio / balcony overlooking the small boat harbour. Watch the fishermen offloading the day's catch, the sea gulls swooping down for food and the Egyptian Geese and many other bird species.
